Default Carryall Club Car 272

Just purchases a new toy:
2000 Carryall Club Car 272
Love it so far but would like to talk to fellow owners about different topics such as: top speed, engine noise, alignment and camber. Belt tension, parts, and things to check for best performance and avoid costly fixes.
Please submit your thoughts.

Was driving down the road today and out of nowhere the cart started to make a beep noise. Could not figure out where it came from before it stoped a minute later. Not the backup alarm.

well for one it seems there are not too many 272 out there to begin with!

engine noise seems loud to me. may be because there are lower geard ina 272 rear end. speed is normal for a golf cart. not a hot rod.

to me, the front end sucks. i like the front brakes. i have been thinking about a different type of lift for it as a ds front end will bolt under, but i want to keep my brakes. there are also a few other issues, but it can be done. But as i am lazy, i will probably just keep rotating the tires and replace them as necessary. as long as i seem to keep carts, i may not have it that long anyway.

BTW the 272 takes it's own belt. others may work but there is a different length for a 272. when all else fails, try your local club car dealer

Yes belt part # is 102188401
As for the front suspension I'm looking for a set of coil over socks which I can't find for cheaper than 165 a piece. My camber is off by a little bit and believe the front right shock us bent. Other than that this cart is awesome and more beasty than any other cart out there... Like a mini truck.

swap shocks left to right and see if the problem follows. both of my tires are a ways out at the top. just the nature of the beast.

Hmm didn't do much. Must be a slight bend in the frame. Not going to worry about it

well i got a 99 xrt carryall, still have the origanial tires. i do know the carryall have a diffent belt then a standard ds. it is slightly smaller then the ds, for the torques reason. top speed i got on my gps was around 23 on a flat ground. with road governor by passed. with a zip tie, just before the rv limoter kicks in. it loose to hold it open, but if i have to go stock, i slide it off the arm.
i have not experienced any beeping other then the reverse beeper.

as far as the front end, no issues. dteering a little losse but gear needs replaced, or adjusted to take up some of the slop. i also think it time for new spindle bushings. theres a lot of slop in the bushings and king pins(spindle bolts).

Why is a 272 unlike other carryall models?
