g9 turns over but wont run
hey all, the cart is run almost daily. My son was driving it to pick me up at the boat ramp,it ran fine there but then wouldnt restart.I thought i ran out of gas so we put some in and still nothing.after waiting a minute i pulled out the choke and it started for a split second then nothing. It turns but wont start. Any ideas from anyone?

Re: g9 turns over but wont run
A sudden no start like that is often spark related, i would check for spark. Pull the plug, ground it to the cyl head and crank it over. The colour of the plug will give you clues as to what condition your motor is in as well.

i pulled the plug and it has spark. i shot a little gas in the plug and it started but only for a 10 feet. I assume it is the fuel pump?

Re: g9 turns over but wont run
Sounds like you either lost your prime when running out of fuel or trash has
entered the carb? Slide hose off of carb and take a test hose with a squirt bottle and slowly fill the bowl full of fuel. Re-install fuel line and try should be enough fuel to prime pump back? If not then start looking at the pump, but running out of fuel is a good sign you ran it dry. Let us know how it turns out. |

Re: g9 turns over but wont run
If you run one dry it can take a while to start with a half tank of fuel, you should fill the tank and it will near gravity feed to the carb then not much cranking will get it pumped to the carb and running. Gas in the bowl can work too it will run long enough to pump the air out and you are good. Some of them if you put a gallon in they will not start it can't pump it up, or takes forever.
