Default 1997 ezgo txt

Hey guys, I have a question about how the front springs mount to the frame of my cart. It already had a homemade lift on it when i bought it which was no problem until this weekend. Are there suppose to be spacers between the frame and springs where the spring meets the frame? Thanks, Raysor
