I have the 295 robbins motor in there now, and im not very happy with it.... Cart shop in town wants to sell me a new bored out 295 to a 375... its 650$...
Is it worth it or should i just put a shorter belt on the 295 and roll? any advise would be great...its a 1996 just incase that matters |

Re: Motor Swap info
You don't state what more do you want the cart to do? Speed, Torque?
I put a 28 degree helix on my workhorse and moved the motor forward a 1/2 inch to similate a 1" shorter belt and can pull a fat lady from an all day Buffet with no problem! |

Re: Motor Swap info
well I want both...The cart doesnt do much now speed wise. a club car 290 cc passed me like I was sitting still. The pullin power is ok i guess for what it is. It still struggles on hills with more than just me.. never heard of the 375 setup. not sure how safe itis or if the upgrade is worth 650$

Re: Motor Swap info
Never heard of it either so I can't say good or bad but it sounds like you need to do some more homework regarding that option or other tried and true improvements that are descussed here before you shell $650.00
That would go a long way to gaining speed and power. What ever you decide, post up some picks and or more info on the mystery motor like what is the base motor and what was added to bump up the power. Or is it just increased CCs |

Re: Motor Swap info
yea i cant find any info on the motor...the company is called quick carts in thomson ga. They do alot of dealer work and say they do it all the time. From what i understand it is just a stock 295 bored out to a 375. not sure about the power upgrades or anyhting. was hoping yall could tell me.. Would an upgrade from a 295 to a 350 be worth 350?
thanks |

Re: Motor Swap info
For less than US$300, you can get a 14-16hp clone motor.
