I know a couple guys who go down there every year -- they own a machine shop. Last year they built a "tent" from blue tarps --- it was like a giant (maybe 40' diameter) umbrella. Plant the middle post in an anchored socket, crank the "slider" up the center post and it spread the sides up just like an umbrella. Down, it looked like a teepee.
Another year they built a Pegasus about 15' tall out of scrap steel -- with a propane burner that shot flames along the wings and out the mouth! Very intense visually, and a nice place to warm up on cold nights.
They've also got a "drum car" ... basically an open frame with multiple seating levels and drums/percussion instruments built in and added on. Very basic but very cool, too.
