Well, any "carb rebuild kit" is aftermarket parts, Yamaha does not offer it in kit form, only piece-by-piece. I would start with a new needle valve from Yamaha.

Question Re: 2004 yamaha gmax Problem??

Thanks cgtech. Are these G22's known to be reliable? This is my first Yamaha golf cart.

Many (myself included) call it Yamahas best model. Although I am also particular to the G2/G9. If I were offered any model of Yamaha to pick from, it would be a G22a. Best gas engine, best suspension & steering. Can't go wrong with a G22.

JN5-14150-00-00 needle valve #

Last time I did this, I ordered new OEM jets and idle screw, too.

Talking Re: 2004 yamaha gmax Problem??

AwesomeThat is what I have- the G22a. I just got it a few weeks ago for $1500. I thought that was an awesome deal. It has a few cosmetic things I could fix, but not worth it to me. I love it so far.

Putting all the kidding aside, I don't think there is a bad Yamaha!! They are all about the best carts out there, when maint is maintained!!

Least parts and all racing technology!!

I agree, but there are a couple I would personally move down the "want list" a little, only due to dwindling & no parts availability.

That has always been my experience with Yamaha branded equipment. Starting with ATV's and boat motors in the '80's to what I have currently, which is two Yamaha Kodiak 4 wheelers, one 90 HP Yamaha boat motor, and now my Yamaha G22a Gmax golf cart. All have been extremely reliable
