Default g1 rear end

im sorry im new to this and was wondering if there are any rear ends that might be compatible with a 1980 g1 that had a reverse switch built in like the newer models of yamaha i think the g2 have it and was wondering if that type of rear end would work on a g1.

With all due respect, A reversible rear end is something most of use that have G1 wood love to have! why? we can upgrade from a 10 hp two cycle motor to a four cycle motor relatively cheep considering that a rebuild G1 engine will cost around $300.00 or more. And me I would not mind getting a 20 hp Yamaha snowmobile engine so the four of us could enjoy a ride in the woods on two tack trails. But I would suggest if you wanted to go 30 MPH the factory motor might be what you should stay with. I am looking forward to postings about the subject of a reversible rear end for a G1

Thank you guys but my question wasnt fully answered. i just wanted to know if there were any rearends with a built in reverse gear that you could switch without turning the engine off and on and if any any rearends were able to just bolt up directly with little to no modifications id like to put in a f-n-r lever like on a riding lawn mower or a shifter like hurst did just a lil smaller
but this is only on the assumption that there might be another compatible rear end tho. for example what did yamaha change on the fourstrokes what did they add to the 4 stroke axle case so they were able to go in reverse since they lost reverse when they changed to the more reliable 4 stroke motor and if so can a g1 rear end be modied with a gear set to give it reverse or can we take a 4 stroke g2 reaerend and change the case over are they somewhat interchangeble cases? wise just wondering
