Re: hesitation to start
Go out and buy a voltmeter - it's very cheap and you will use it forever. Many times the solution to a problem is very simple, not exotic or complicated. You had a dead battery - very easy to diagnose and fix. No reason to change parts without simple testing of the obvious first.
And what do you mean by your battery tested "good"? Are you measuring voltage, and how much was it? Resting voltage actually tells you very little about the state of a battery. A fully charged good battery reads 12.6-12.8V. If the battery is at all suspect, you get it load tested, at any gas station or battery store, for free, or buy an inexpensive load tester from Harbor Freight or similar. You will always use it in the future. And if you don't use the cart for a long while, consider getting a small 1.5-2 amp battery "maintainer" to keep on it to keep up the charge and greatly extend the life of the battery. |
