Default New header, now less power!

S I decided to install a stainless steel header and mufflr onm my cart. Of course the exhaust bolts wrung off in the head and I had to pull t and drill every one of them out. Got it back together and now it has plenty of low end torque but I have lost my top end by about 5mph. Ijust ordered a new Jet for the carb hoping this will fix it. Am I on the right track here with the Jet???

That may help, most exhaut systems from factory a desighned to help pull exhaust out of a stock engine, may need more gas, I drilled about eight 3/8 inch holes in the side of a muffle once she run like hell but i got tired of the noise, I really like the stealth quiet, sometimes i ride where you not supost too, LOL

definitely need to increase the fuel if You run a less restricted exhaust ... It can be a delicate balance to get right, but once you find it you'll know it :)

With the header and new exhaust, the engine has less back pressure and therefore will obtain less RPM. Try restricting the exhaust at the tailpipe to test if this is where you are losing speed....
