Default G 14 valve springs

Is the valve springs for a G14 the same as for a G16? I am wanting to do a valve job on my G14 . All I can find online searching close is for a G 16. If not where is a source? I have found valves, seals, guides, but no springs.

Thanks Smallblock. I figured I would replace them while doing the valves. I don't know how many hrs is on this motor . A lot I would think but still runs good.

Smallblock one other question you said the valve springs are the same on a g14 and g16 what about valve guides ? I read on another of your posts that you don't see valve guides going bad too often so even if they are the same would you recommend not replacing them ?

OK I finally got around to pulling my head and was a little surprised to find very little carbon build up on the head and none on the piston. The valve seal was gone on the intake so I am thinking this had a lot to do with the oil seeping by and letting it smoke on start up . I have ordered both valves, 2 new springs, 2 valve seals, head gasket, valve cover gasket, exhaust gasket. The exhaust valve had some carbon on the seat which probably didnt help with compression either . The piston had no markings on it except a diamond mark . I will assume then it is a stock size then. It had some but very little play in the cylinder . Hoping this helps so the motor dont have to come out anytime soon. Here are some pics of the piston and head just as I found them.

Really no reason to put a valve stem seal on the exhaust valve, it just gets to hot and will destroy the seal (learned this from a very knowledable member, so I've stopped installing one in a rebuild). Could be your comppression rings are tight, but the oil rings are worn, pretty commen for Yami's.

I really didn't know about putting a seal on the exhaust valve or not SmallBlock. I have read so much on here and some put both on and some only put the intake on . I know they only come from the factory with one just because the exhaust gets too hot . Ordered 2 anyway just to have it.

I get all this back together and runs good I am calling Plowman to get his secondary clutch kit with new belt and his larger jets too. I put Jakes power spring in it( white spring) Plowman seems to have several strengths for his kits. I want new sheaves and helix(sp) too.

Well I got my head put back on today. It has new valves, springs and valve stem seals . Lapped the new valves. I went from 115 compression before to 170 today . Checked it cold and then hot which only drooped to 165. Motor runs so much smoother now and has a lot more torque too. Does not smoke anymore . Now to order Plowmans secondary clutch kit along with larger jets.
