G9 transmission
I need a used input shaft or transmission for a G9 Yamaha. My in-law does not know what 42# torque means. Any help I can get on this problem will be appreciated. Please PM me a price. There is an input shaft on e-bay but it looks like a counter shaft to me. Thanks for looking!

Re: G9 transmission
Yes! the nut was grossly over torqued and broke off with all threads. I can replace the shaft rather than ship an entire transmission but I will do either or what ever is necessary.

Re: G9 transmission
You could also try drilling and tapping the end of the shaft for a bolt instead of the nut.

Re: G9 transmission
I had thought about that solution and may be the path to take. Maybe I can get a bolt he will have trouble stripping!

Re: G9 transmission
If the shaft is not too hard to drill!

Re: G9 transmission
It should drill easily. The shaft is likely case hardened.

Re: G9 transmission
If it isn't I will anneal the outer inch of the shaft. If I do this I will probably have to safety wire the bolt to keep it from working loose.
