Re: 1985 EZGO Carb Question, 2 cycle Robin
If the governor is back on the cart, check to make sure the throttle is opening all the way when the pedal is pressed. Try it with the key off.

Re: 1985 EZGO Carb Question, 2 cycle Robin
Thats how I set it after the build and reset it again this morn. Maybe the governor is doing its job and I'm not realizing it, gonna take it for a ride without it tomm. and use up the break in tank of fuel to get to the more lean and try it that way. Any other suggestions on getting more speed safely? Not a whole lot to adjust on this thing.

Re: 1985 EZGO Carb Question, 2 cycle Robin
Also I modified the exhuast The old muffler was blown out the bottom so I cut the Flare from it and welded it to a good Chinese moped muffler, the connecting pipe for about 6 inches to the muffler is only abut an inch around instead of the normal size would this or the muffler have anything to do with power loss?

Re: 1985 EZGO Carb Question, 2 cycle Robin
I can tell you that it wasn't the governor being disconnected that took out the motor. That motor can rev to unbelievable rpms, I don't know the nature of the failure, but if you disconnect the governor, there are other things that need to be done to keep from grenading the motor. Very simple stuff.

It depends on if you plan on running the governor or not, and what you are looking for out of the cart.

Honestly just stock speed most of the time but wouldn't find to see if there's a quick few things or so to get just a little extra pep out of it sometimes without risk to the engine.
