Default How aggressive would this project be?

This is a 2002 AA cart as pictured. I can buy it fairly inexpensively, but I'm not sure if it's worth the trouble. Clearly it needs batteries, front and rear bodies, seat frames, and some wiring. I'm not sure what electronics are currently installed.

My AQ cart will eventually be upgraded electronically, so I could use parts from it on this cart, but obviously some of it won't be compatible.

What do you guys think? What would you pay for this basketcase?

Everything electronic from your AQ cart would go on that one (assuming you mean motor, controller, MCOR throttle and All switches). It would need an IQ wire harness to work, and would need to ditch the OBC and use a smart charger, or use the OBC from your other cart if you upgrade to a smart charger.

Check the frame for cracks and broken welds. Doesn’t look like that cart had too rough a life, the battery trays are still clean looking and the rest of the frame is still somewhat clean and I don’t see much in the way of rust on the motor can or other steel parts. I wouldn’t expect to have to do much suspension-wise unless you really want to do a lift kit or something like that.

Find a used DS body for it and some new batteries and new tires, and you could probably make that cart run for under $1500

I’d probably try to get it for $250, maybe a bit more if they happen to have the seat frames laying around somewhere.

Thanks Fairfax. I’m not looking to take everything off the IQ, but if I upgrade the controller and motor, they become surplus. I wish I knew what was missing on this cart, but it’s 45 minutes away. Asking price is under your figure.

It wouldn't be any worse than any other build. On my 2010 Precedent I've just about jacked up the roof and put everything new under it. The frame and seats are about the only things original.

I would be all over that. It has motor/FNR, maybe the controller?

Like FT said it looks to be in good shape. (At least from what I can see from here)

Controller is in there I can see the bolts that hold it on. Solenoid might be gone but those are not expensive to replace. Batteries and cables, and maybe an FNR switch if that one is crusty, I’d almost bet that cart will run with not much more than that.
