Default Off Road LED lights getting too much power?

I bought some led lights and wiring harness off amazon. Got them hooked up to he positive on one battery and the negative on another (48v cart)

only the light on the switch comes on. The lights dont. Are they getting too much power? Do I need to get a small 12v battery instead of using the golf cart batteries??

light specs :

LED Power: 18W (6 x 3W High Intensity LED)
Beam Pattern: Flood Beam; Lumen: 1260LM
Input Voltage: 9-30V DC (fits 12V, 24V vehicles

harness specs:

LED Light Bar Wiring Harness Kit
10ft Wiring Harness-Two Leads.
Wire Gauge: 16 AWG.
Working Voltage: 12V DC.
Max Working Current: 15A.
Max Wattage: 180W.Switch Operation: On-Off.
DC 12V automotive relay, blade fuse holder with replaceable fuse.

Try hooking your light supply power to less than the whole pack. Find the right battery terminal so you're only at 24 volts. ( 3 8v or 2 12v )

Yes. If you have the + connection for the lights connected to pack main positive, then follow the batteries through the series until you include 24 volts and connect the - light terminal there. If you read those two terminals you should have the total voltage of the batteries you have included. Three 8 volt batteries, followed from positive to negative through the series of the pack will give you 24 volts. Connect there.

Except 24 volts will destroy the 12 volt relay… Go 2 batteries and that will give you 16.

I was basing that on the light specs for the LED kit : " light specs :

LED Power: 18W (6 x 3W High Intensity LED)
Beam Pattern: Flood Beam; Lumen: 1260LM
Input Voltage: 9-30V DC (fits 12V, 24V vehicles"

But 16 should work too. Also falls in the recommended range of 9 to 30 . LED's are more tolerant.

In that case you may have already killed the 12v relay that kgsc referenced whenever you had it wired to 48. Says its a standard automotive relay. Try another at the new lower voltage. ALSO, LED's are polarity critical. Make sure you don't cross + and - at the batteries.
