Default Bad Vanny

I went muddin in some sticky stuff last weekend and now my baby won't run right. It'll start up fine but won't run for very long.... I took my air filter out and its fine... I think it might be my plugs, gotta take them out but it won't run very good chokeless or with the choke...It just coughs then when you let of the gas it dies. Whats the deal???!!!

Did the crap get on the flywheel? How about in the gas? I'd change the oil, put fresh gas in it, and wash it all really good, see what that does. Start be eliminating the simple causes....

Mud probably did not, but there is a better chance water did. Water in gas=poorly running engine. Are all your lines and hoses tight? If you were mudding, you probably weren't babying it and things could have worked loose.

while cranking it over take the fuel line off at the carb to see what kind of gas flow your getting.......also while cranking pull plug wire to see if your getting a good strong spark..................................

PULL THE CHOKE! Works every time!

Ok, I could not resist. Engine needs air, fuel and fire. Take the breather off and see what happens, then I would check to see if it is pumping fuel to the carb, then if ok , change the plugs. Be careful checking the fuel! Don't let gas get where it doesn't need to be while working on an engine. (spark or something hot) Good luck.

Be sure to check your air filter. If it is wet it is plugged.

Also, if it runs fine for just a few moments and then dies, I would check the fuel pump also.

Oops, I see Clay mentioned that already... Something on this page should fix it..
