If the diode is shorted or partially shorted
partially shorted ? really ? ok .. please inform me how a diode can be "partially shorted"

explain the full charge out of a shorted diode

and please tell me how AC can travel through the charger and "leak" into a battery pack

Put the meter on the diode test function. Remove all three nuts on the diode strip and remove the wires. Put red lead of multimeter on the center post. Put black lead on each outer post. You should see approx 460 on the multimeter screen on each post. Now put black lead of multimeter on center post and put red on each outer post. You should get nothing, and nothing. Do the same on the upper heatsink. Your results should be the same, but opposite polarity. I may have them backwards, but if you get a reading of, 460, 460, nothing, nothing, on each strip then they're good. Hope I'm making sense.

Ok, if I did this right here are the results.

I put the meter in ohms...

Top diode.. Red in middle: left 539, right 564. Nothing when black on middle.

Side diode... Red in middle...nothing on either, black on middle...top 563, lower 522.

Does this make sense to you? Also there is some corrosion or erosion lol to the purple wire terminal that can be seen better once apart.
