Are you certain the red is not the 48v INPUT? Many or some converters the red wire is the INPUT wire while yellow tends to be the output voltage.

Another question.
The reducer we are replacing was a 220w 48v to 12v dc-dc converter 20amp. Since we have have, led bar light, radio, rear led lights, speakers, winch (but probably not going to run through converter ), and (2) 12v outlets, should we upgrade to a higher AMP? |

Do not run the winch through the voltage converter. It will draw significantly more current than the converter can provide and you risk damaging both the winch and the converter. Running a winch on an electric cart is best handled through a separate 12v battery or forgetting the electric winch and using a manual come-along if you get stuck.
