A diode should only conduct when it is foward biased, this site show you how to test if you have a "diode test" setting on your multimeter.
http://en-us.fluke.com/training/trai...ultimeter.html
The important thing to remember is that at least one lead of the diode can not be connected to the circuit when testing or you will get wrong results.

You can also use the resistance (ohms) setting on your meter, yout should get low resistance in one direction and Open Circuit (OL) on the other direction.

Unfortunately the best way is to remove the 2 center batteries and drop the "Heat Sink" into the battery bucket.

Here is cart number pq1038-130456 standard 250amp controller .according to guy I bought it from it was course cart that was refurbished by club car after lease ending
This is just for your information. If your cart had been refurbed by Club Car the serial number wouldn't start with PQ. It would start with a 2P or 3P.

Hello Sergio no luck locating diode opened up casing and followed to sonic weld splitting wire service wasn't there . Any idea where it might be located on the harness thought I seen post taking about it be inter grated in Curtis controller . Revolution carts is sending a new speed sensor and high speed magnet . This might cure it hopefully

The diode may very well be integrated into your controller.

The symptom in your first post about the solenoid dropping out when decelerating or when Regen is engaged to control/maintain speed is an issue Club car had with the old IQ controllers.

Their solution at the time was a field modification called the "solenoid drop-out harness", which was a simple diode wired in series with the Tow/Run switch.

if the diode has failed closed (whatever it may be), perhaps it still can cause that old problem.

If You have electronic stores near by, the diode is less than $1.

Here is a link for the part #, but any 10A/400v type diode would work.
