Default 11' elec. Yamaha programing

(My first post hopefully I'm doing it correctly) I was told at my local GC shop that they could program the cart to give up torque in order to gain speed and also get rid of the regenerative braking. They are charging $155. My question is can I do this myself with a computer and the download of a program? I would prefer to do it myself so that I could make changes when necessary. I have 14 inch wheels with low profile street tires so I am okay with giving up the torque.
