Scotty, dont worry i can tell you are not trytin to be mine and just trying to help me. I understand your concern and i really appreciate that, I didnt plan on going at it alone though, my stepdad is a heavy equpitment mechanice and is ASE certified and he has A LOT more experiance with this then i do. I relay on him alot for things like this so dont worry. Worst case i will go with what i know and do crimping.

What is your opinion on tinned lugs as opposed to full copper?

Would 20 ft be realistically sufficient to make all 13 cables correctly?

I only ask you because i know you make them and i have alot of exeriance.

when you say mine is a LOT bigger it makes me worry just a little. lol.

I was looking at 3/8" tinned lugs for my cable, thats what i asked if it had to be copper or tinned would work. I thought that would work. I appreciate you concern witht his. i know everyone is just looking at my best interest. :)

Personally I like the idea of tinned lugs. The tin & silver coating is more pure than copper alone and so it is less inclined to corrosion. But - I work this stuff hot so that I can guarantee a good weld & at that temperature the tin runs and makes a mess.

20 ft may not be enough for a series cart.

Double check with your battery manufacturer, as I'm only going from memory, but if your post is 5/16" and you go with 3/8", you are reducing the contact area of the lugs.

Well then i guess i will try one and see how it goes, if its to much ill just go with copper.

In you experiance, how much do you feel is enough for the cart so i can make sure i get enouh for when i make the cables.

Hi, new here trying to get some info.
I have a TXT PDS cart and I am going to replace the battery and motor cables.
This is what I have for measurements, not sure if I got them here or somewhere else in all my frenzied searching.

Batteries:
1-14"
4-10"

Battery to controller:
2-28"
1-8"

Controller to Motor:

2-58"

Can anyone confirm this? Any help would be great.

Thanks,

well if you really want to be ABSOLUTLY sure, remove them one and a time and measure them. OR label them and where they are landed (make a map) and do them all at once.

That is probably what I should do, it's stored somewhere else till winter ends.
Would be nice to have them ready when I get it out of storage.

Thanks,

I just took the cables off my PDS cart and these were the stock measurements I came up with for the 6 g cables

Intra-battery connections
1 x 12”
4 x 9”

Battery to controller components

Negative battery to controller- 36"
Positive battery to controller- 27"
Solenoid to controller- 8"

Motor to controller:

A1 is 52 inches, A2 is 42 inches

If you are upgrading to a new controller, your length needs may differ (typically shorter) depending on how you want to orient your controller.

Thanks for the info! Not going with a new controller but will have to put new batteries in this year so I figured I would change the cables out to 4ga.
Bought this last fall and only used it a couple times. Batteries are crappy old and weak.
Everyone tells me buy Trojan, so that is what I will be looking at I guess.
There is a mish mash of batteries in there now.
Bought the cable last weekend and have the terminals and solder slugs on order.
