Heavy duty rear spring?
I just installed a set of 3 leaf HD springs on the rear of my TXT. It increased the height in the rear by several inches and made it ride very stiff . Has anyone ever removed one of the leafs ? Should I remove the shortest one or the middle one?

Re: Heavy duty rear spring?
I would remove just the bottom one and try from there.

Re: Heavy duty rear spring?
I'll try that first. They have the rear jacked up to high, the shocks are extended all the way out. I may have to take out two leafs and only use the main one, it's a good bit thicker than the stock ones

Re: Heavy duty rear spring?
should have went with the "dual action" springs, when your not loaded down rides real nice, when you have a load then the overload springs kick in

Re: Heavy duty rear spring?
If you got 3" lift by just installing new springs your old springs were completely shot past the point of replacing. A pair of HD springs should only net ~1" increase in height vs. good stock springs.

Re: Heavy duty rear spring?
They were worn out, they had no arch to them at all. The drivers side sat much lower too. I got a set of front springs off EBay , they are two leaf but thicker. The seller said they are about 30% stronger than factory.

Re: Heavy duty rear spring?
Sounds similar to trailer springs.
Installed trailer springs on bro-in-laws EZGO. Removed all but one leaf and still had over 2" lift and a lot stiffer ride. The trailer springs are thicker and just meant for more weight, but it still worked on his cart. |

Re: Heavy duty rear spring?
I hope they stiffen the ride too much.
