77 Ez-go moves when key is turned on

ok in the members rides section you will see my 77 ez-go project.
Everything seems ok with my wiring.BUT when I turn on the key,it goes.
The carbon contact is resting on the open copper contact.
as a matter of fact it rest about half way past it.So I may be slightly out of adjustment but that should keep the switch from coming on even moreso till the pedal is pushed.
Now,What I have read tells me to check the micro switch on the speed board.
From what I remember from college normally closed means a ohm meter set on audible continuity should beep when touching the common and the normally closed.
The center,normally open,should not beep until pedal is pushed.
But the wired diagram I used shows the black wire going to the normally closed and the grey going to common.
which to me looks azz backwards but what do I know?
but I hook it,seems the cart wants to lurch which ever direction is selected.The solenoid clics and when switch is off nothing happens.SO I don't think it is solenoid.

OK Forgive the stupidity.
When the terminal on the switch says normally closed,is that when the pedal is pushed or not?
I am thinking the switch could be bad because with everything assembled,I can use the beep test on my simpson meter and it beeps on the common and normally closed without the pedal being pushed.

NO terminal will be closed (connected) when switch (and pedal) is at rest, NC will be closed (connected) when pedal is pressed. Pedal should touch the lever on the switch when the pedal is at rest.

Ok,that means I need to order a switch as it beeps when tested at rest.Thanks!
Ok I found 1 for 12 bucks I guess I will order it today unless the local place happens to have it,which I doubt.
shipping will be more than the switch.

just as I thought, allmost 23 bucks! but if it fixes it and the cart will be serviceable,then worth it.
Did want to say thanks for the advice.
I hit mental blocks sometimes.

Well a really big truck brought a really tiny package.I used the ohm meter and sure enough,

That should fix it!
Thank you for forgiveing the dumb question.But I needed to know to fiqure out the problem.
