Default Quick fuel system question....

Hi guys,

My '97 DS with FE290 has been sitting for a few months. Finally got around to installing a new coil/ignitor today. It fired right up and ran pretty well, which means that at least I replaced the correct part as it would not run before.

My question is this.... There is fuel pouring out of the line that comes off the carb and drains to the ground when the engine is running. As RPM increases the amount of fuel coming out increases as well. My assumption is that the float bowl needle valve is sticking open. Does that make sense? Or is there another possible cause? I can pull the carb tomorrow and clean it out but want to save the trouble if that's not it.

Thanks a bunch!!

Monte

you can also tap the bowl and carb with a screw driver. some times that un sticks the float.

Yep bthat was it. Dropped the bowl and shot carb cleaner in there. No more fuel pouring out.
