Charger Amps Oscillating
Corroded and loose connections resulted in two melted battery posts. I replaced them and cleaned up all of my connections. Cart runs and it appears everything is connected right. The problem came when I tried to charge the cart. When I plugged it in, the charger began to oscillate from 0 to 10 amps. Swings are rapid to the point I am concerned leaving it plugged in. The charger has never behaved this way before. Need some ideas to troubleshoot.

Re: Charger Amps Oscillating
Tell us what cart, year, voltage, drive system and what brand of charger for some help.
Oh and any other changes you've made to the cart. |

TXT, 48V, AXE 4855, dpi charger, T-875s, 2 Gauge cables.
Ran fine for two years. Charger started oscillating after melt down. |

Re: Charger Amps Oscillating
Is the DPI charger giving you any error codes?
What is pack voltage? Normal start-up is about 5A until pack voltage reaches about 56V for a 48V pack. Does the charger go through the pre-qualification tests, or does it just start bouncing from 0-10A? If it doesn't pre-qualify the pack, give DPI a call. |

Re: Charger Amps Oscillating
No error codes. Skips detection and goes directly to yellow flashing charge mode. Called DPI. They suspect a faulty card. Will plug into another cart to isolate to the charger and go from there.

Re: Charger Amps Oscillating
Local golf cart shop did not have any 48V TXTs to plug into. Called DPI and they are sending a new card. DPI is a good shop to deal with.
