New Batteries Question for ScottyB...and others
Old 4-1/2 year Batts gave in. Having 7 6 volt Trojan T-105's installed in my 2003 42 volt Ezgo/Western tomorrow. Read break-in procedures on your website. If it takes 12+ hours for initial charge and subsequent new batt charges, I may only get two runs/charges before I go home on Sunday. I am returning next weekend.
I purchased a DPI charger from you a few months ago. My question...should I leave the charger plugged in for the week or wait to use the 'float' feature after the batts have gone thru the several 75% discharge/recharge cycles? Thanks. |

You can use the float charge on new batts - no problem with that.

Scotty covered the first part of your question, but I'd like to clarify something in the last part. Discharging to 75% SoC is a limit rather than a goal. In other words, you don't have to discharge to 75% SoC before recharging, you just don't want to discharge lower than 75% SoC during the first two dozen or so discharge/recharge cycles. |
