Default Aren't King Pin bushings supposed to be bronze?

Hi,
Just received king pin bushings for 2003 carryall from buggysunlimited. They are listed as bronze, but they are the color of steel and are magnetic. Called them, no one knew anything and they managed to pass me around until "tech support" went home for the day.
Aren't the bushings still supposed to be bronze (to protect the steel pin)? Has anyone else seen anything like this?
Thanks in advance for any help

Bought my king pins and bushings from Cart Parts Plus (a site sponsor). Mine were bronze just like what came out. And per your other post you do have to ream them after installation. If you use a brake hone you will get very tired, trust me. I used a 3/4 inch drill bit and line bored them. Might not be the correct way but it worked for me and been working for eight years with no problems. Your Mileage May Vary.

Jimmie, drill bits will work, and since they have lube fittings, fresh grease every 6 months of a high quality, low wash out, grease will do wonders. i have heated mine up with a torch 2 years ago, and cleaned my cavities out, wasn't taking grease , and it was old and crusty inside. i checked, the king pins in the bushing before the heating, and after, and i only had movement up and down, not side to side. time for new thrust washers!

yes golf part is pretty good! i think this is where tom is and does wonders to clutches too.....
