Default Finally got down to the country to see why no reverse

I bought a 97 gass club car and right after it was bought, I didn't have reverse.
last year was a different year, My 91 year old Mom had two very intense surgeries, and wife had knee surgery from broken knee cap and surgery
I just want to justify why I have not fixed it as of yet.
So if you think I have been lazy and not help this duffus- I just couldn't get to the cart

I got there this weekend, and figured out somethings, it will not go to the full forward position, when in neutral, it is in neutral when you have it in reverse.

I tried lengthening and shortening the shift cable, but I was not successful with that line of thought.

I was wondering if I took the arm that attaches to the post coming out of the transmission and loosened the arm and repositioned the arm so the cable would pull it into the proper spot when set to forward and then reverse

I hope I am making sense- My wife looked at me at dinner and laughed- a good part of the weekend, she would say slow down, you do not have to get the last years repairs. grass cutting and play into 3 days
thanks guys and gals\

PS I realized today, that it does not have a alternator, generator mon this cart- it has a place for one, but no alternator- How hard is this going to be to Gerry rig something?
