Re: Schumacher or DPI Charger
Ok, to clarrify for those needing it, I didnt say the batteries were dead, I said the cart was, as in I got it non functioning and have never seen it "alive". I got it for a cheap trade bc of this (previous owner assumed batteries were shot) but I was able to get a charge into the batteries with a 12v charger but that does not necessarily mean they are good, or will hold a charge at all.
Anyways, I just got the DPI in this morning and hooked it up. Definitely worth the money. Great build quality for sure. Now just praying I can salvage the batteries. |

Re: Schumacher or DPI Charger
I gotcha, you should love the DPI, I've heard nothing but good things about em. Do your batts have a date code on them?

Re: Schumacher or DPI Charger
Well it completed a full charge cycle with the DPI. I will get it out tomorrow to test it out crusing with my kids in their modified power wheels :)

Re: Schumacher or DPI Charger
sigh, not the best first test run. Since this is my first cart I don't know exactly what to expect but it was an extremely joltly ride. The throttle is either all or nothing so it just lurches forward. As far as the batteries, I drove on mostly level grass for 45 min and the batteries are down to 36.8 v and got slower on any small incline. Maybe it is time I start a "build thread" for this. I am mechanically inclined and fix/build cars regularly, and while the principles of electrical remain the same, the components are new to me.
This will be a cart for our new camp this year ( first permanent camp) so it will be getting a ton of use and I look forward to modifying and customizing it, but before anything I need a mechanically sound and reliable cart. |

Re: Schumacher or DPI Charger
Yes, does this cart have the five solenoid resistor setup, or does it have a v-glide?
