the high current cables at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock on the F&R.....and you will be good to go. Had the exact same thing when rewiring my entire cart after a complete overhaul.

The microswitch wires......

Starting from the outside of the cart.....

Orange wire for reverse and red wire to buzzer, middle pin empty, next pin red wire jumper to next micro.

Next micro,

Red wire from outside micro and red wire to 36v pack positive (or reed switch), middle pin empty, Blue wire to keyswitch.

That should only happen if he has the shifter operating backwards and has the high speed reverse and low speed forward.

Couldnt it be that S1 and S2 are reversed on the motor?

Never mind, that would make you go reverse when the switch is in F and vice versa

Read the title of this thread......that is EXACTLY what his problem is.

Actually it isn't. He said he is moving faster in reverse and slower in forward, but he never said the shifter was operating incorrectly. I took it to mean when he shifts to forward the cart moves forward but goes slow. When he shifts to reverse, the cart moves reverse, but moves fast.

Maybe we need the OP to clarify this?

This IS correct.....that's what he meant.....and as I stated in my post, by swapping the high current cable at the 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock positions on the back of the F&R WILL do exactly that.....when he is currently placing it in FORWARD and going slow and if REVERSE it goes fast....by swapping those cables, his cart when put in FARWARD it will go fast, and in REVERSE it will go slow.

OR he could just swap the cables on the S1 a d S2 posts on the motor, will accomplish the same effect.

By swapping the 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock wires on the f/r switch, all that did was made the cart go backwards while in foward postitiob and the reverse while the lever was coward. The cables are in their correct spots from the factory I looked up the wiring harness. It sounds like rabbitron is right and I'm going to try his suggestion now

This is exactly what is happening. The lever is working perfectly it just is slower in forward then in reverse. You can tell the motor is operating backwards too it's not just a little faster in reverse, it's night and day difference.
