I know.....I have seen something like that done at work before. Fore if it worked before you take it apart, and truly put it back together like it was, it will work again. And its why I tell people BEFORE the start taking anything apart, take pictures....and even make yourself a wiring diagram of what you have....complete with wire colors.

UPDATE / SOLVED:

talked to the customer about what was going on and he said "well could it be the connections i had loosened?" i said "what connections?" he said "the ones on the motor, i was told if you loosened up the connections to the motor it would slow the cart down, its a little to fast these days so i had my son loosen the cables on the motor.... come to think of it this was about the time the switch went bad, do you think they have something in common"

the Da.mn conections on the motor were loose. i tightened the top two post on the motor along the way of working on this cart but never actually put a socket on the bottom 2, they didnt seem loose when i was moving the wires (thats becuase there is a wire loom that holds them all still, not the connections themselves) so anyways i tightened up all the connections (they were loose as hell and caused some burnt up cable ends, i replaced) on the motor and bada-bing shes working fine. i also switched out a microswitch, but im not sure if that was the problem or not. (i found out about the cable loosening during the microswitch install)

everything was wired correctly i just didnt check my connections with a socket like i should of, i would of never thought in a million years someone would loosen them up, but i will certainly always check now.

one thing that YOU need to ensure, is that when tightening up the connections on the motor, ENSURE you use a backup wrench on the bottom nut to make sure the stud itself turns, as the small wires they connect to are relatively easy to brake.

whoever told him to loosen the connections is crazy... that is a fast way to burn up a motor.

I'm with Scotty though..... I would never have dreamed a loose connection would cause the cart to go faster.....

I was following along on this thread and most likely the issue was the micro-switch not the motor connections, but checking all cables is always a good idea for preventive maintenance.

If the issue was the motor connection, disconnecting the micro-switch would have had no effect.

yea i knew that, luckily when he loosened them he just undid the top nut and didnt go crazy and loosen the stud too because that would of been real bad.
