You may want to spray WD40 on the DC charger plug and insert/remove it several times to clean up any oxidation on the sense pin.

It would have taken over a year for the pack to self discharge that much, so a simple lack of charging was not the cause.

Perhaps the cart or some accessory was left ON.

Definitely do the OBC reset, a full charge, check the water levels and measure the individual batteries to make sure they are all above 8.5v.

You really should have someone once a month do the simple task of unplugging, waiting 5 sec, plugging the DC cord back and checking the charger starts and stops.
There is no accessories except for light and blinkers. Easier said than done getting my dad to remember to unplug and plug it in once a month. He has been good about checking water level in batteries. i am just the person that has to rescue him when things don't work. lol. All the batteries were 8.5 ish so i will do the reset procedure. Also i read that keeping it in neutral and the switch in tow mode will help with battery drain.. will the batteries still charge while in tow mode, any advice. Thanks Tw

The Precedent Excel uses power when the Tow/Run is on RUN, even with the key is OFF and neutral.

Putting the cart on TOW disables a lot of the controller power consumption since most of the Controller software stops running.

Only the OBC remains running while the cart is on TOW, the FNR switch is irrelevant when on TOW.

Forgetting the lights ON will absolutely kill the batteries in a few days.

Make sure the lights don't work when the cart is on TOW, if they do, You may need to change the wiring so they go OFF with the key switch (which only has power when the cart is on RUN).

You need to find out the source for the 12v, maybe they just tapped 16v from 2 batteries.

Check to see if there are any wires connected to any battery post other than pack positive.

You may need to get a 48v->12v reducer with a trigger wire.

Post a picture of the battery bay if you need us to identify the source.
