Default Motor rebuild

Ok got all my parts in about to rebuild my 36v motor. Any suggestions on how to clean inside where all the graphite dust is? Also I have cables marked for the F2 & A1 but what about new brushes I installed how do I know which is A1 &F2?

Well I uninstalled already unfortunately! I marked cables that bolt to motor but pull all the brushes & holder & didn't mark those studs the cables hook to. But not sure even if I marked where the new one would go they aren't marked

The F1 and F2 are the field wire studs and are not connected to the brushes.
They are on the large field coils in the motor housing.

The A1 and A2 are for the armature brushes.
The A1 and A2 are the studs closest the motor end.
A1 has two brushes that are 180 deg apart and so does A2.
They should be easy to determine how they lay in the brush plate holder.
Some may route under the plate and some over it.
Insure there is no binding of the wires as you install the brushes.
Use the springs to park the brushes while installing the armature in to the rear housing.
Then release them to slide the brushes down in the guide.
Spring sits on the top end of the brush when released.

Pic shows parked brushes on a GE Club Car motor.

Your motor is probably different, this is just a reference.

Even if you put them in wrong, the cart would go in forward when in reverse and visa versa, you would just have to switch those two wires on the motor.
