Club Car DS goes really slow
I just got a Club Car DS and put all new batteries in it and had the motor brushes replaced and the cart still goes extremely slow. It goes the same speed on flat ground as it goes up a hill. Not sure what could be wrong with it. I want sure if it’s in a low speed setting or if it could be something else. The local shop is over an hour away and I was hoping to try and fix it before I ended up having to take it there. Does anybody have any suggestions?

Re: Club Car DS goes really slow
It is most likely one of two things. It has a bad speed sensor and you are in "Limp" mode OR you are at a lower speed code then you should be.
(With the carts Run/Tow switch in the "Run" position and brake Off) Push the vehicle manually forwards or backwards for several feet. The "Roll-Away" brake should become active and you would feel resistance to the movement along with multiple beeping from the reverse buzzer. If you do not get beeping and resistance, your speed sensor has failed and needs to be replaced. Get one here https://www.revolutiongolfcars.com/motors |

If I push the cart in neutral it resists and will beep does that mean the speed sensor is okay I think I read that somewhere and we tried it and that’s what happened.

I didn’t see that you posted that below your response so yes we did do that and that’s what it did.

Re: Club Car DS goes really slow
Here are the speed codes for your cart. Download a GPS speed app for your smart phone and check the cart and report back. 1-3 can be changed with a hand-held programmer, but SP4 requires you to purchase from a dealer (~$100)
Speed Code 1 = 8 Mph Speed Code 2 = 11 Mph Speed Code 3 = 14.7 Mph Speed Code 4 = 19.7 Mph (Private code) |

Re: Club Car DS goes really slow
download a gps speedo app for your phone to see exactly what speed you are cruising at
i just replaced the speed sensor and did the speed magnet while i was in there 19mph is a vast improvement over 14mph, not sure i'd need to go faster |
