It has that kind of linkage but I had it off in the pictures.

My problem is the pedal doesn’t throw enough to use the potentiometer. If the pedal moved another couple inches it would be perfect. I might just bend the pedal shaft and cut a few inches off the top of the pedal to get more movement

The throttle pot was one of the problems with the one I worked on. I went to a local electronics hobby store (used to be a Radio Shack, now an independent) and picked up a 20k ohm potentiometer. Installed it in a position where it started out basically zero, and the travel it had worked out about perfect. Topped out just over 5K (5067 if I remember correctly).
