Default Obc bad

The OBC on my 2004 club car ds 48v is toast. Do I get another 0BC or do I buy another charger that I can use by bypassing my OBC? I have it bypassed now but don’t know how lon to charge my batteries. I have brand new batteries and don’t want to over charge them.

Order you a new DPI accusense. Scottyb has them http://www.cartsunlimited.net/chargers-36-48v.html. The OBC's were good, but they are not as good as a smart charger and the Accusense is about the best in my opinion.

It can charge but after about 4-5 hours check it with your DVM and stop it once you are at ~61 volts. It can run up to 63 volts but it is slow going. And you are correct, do not leave it like that long as over time it will deteriorate your pack.

What should be the total volts for a 48 V bank? I’m getting around 50 volts. Should it be closer to 60 with brand new batteries. I ordered an accusence charger yesterday.

12 hours after the charge has completed you should have 50.93 or better.....

I bought an accusense charger. I bypassed the obc so I could still charge the batteries. Do I need to undo the bypass and put it like it was when the obc was good in order for the accusense to automatically shut off? I hooked up the accusense 2 hours ado and it’s still charging. I thought the bank was already fully charged but maybe not.

It takes a little longer to charge new batteries. Did you get these two docs I have attached with your new charger?

No, I did not get those, my charger is used. Thanks so much. I’ll have to read them so I’ll know more about how to use this charger.

How do I tell if it’s generation 3 or 4? The model number is 1-48017-04. Does that mean it’s a generation 4?
