Default 1997 DCS Controller Diagnostics (My Test Results)

Ok guys, I picked up a 97 dcs for $320 this week. Everything is stock no lift, no back seat etc etc....

The charger was included with 2 year old batteries. I charged the batteries and once fully charged the pack voltage is 37.9 which isnt 38.2 however i'm still not complaining.

I ran across a dcs test that ANDY4639 linked from monkey. http://www.studmonkeyracing.com/forums/dcs.pdf

These are my results:
Test 1 - I have 37.9 on B+
Test 2 - Pin 10 (red/yel) has 37.9
Test 3 - Pin 9 (red) has 36v
Test 4 - Pin 5 (grn) I have 37.9 with pedal pressed or not.
Test 5 - Pin 7 (blu) 0v
Test 6 - Pin 6 (blk) 37.9 not 13-15v
Test 7 - Pin 1 (wht) 36v not .4-1.6v

One thing that is weird is once I place the drive switch in either forward or reverse the solenoid clicks and not when the pedal is pressed like on my series cart. Is this supposed to be how it is or is the controller causing this?

The controller has a strong burnt smell. However I wanted to run this by you guys before I replace it.

I dont plan on lifting it but gonna make a little street cruiser. Thinking of a XCT Alltrax if I cannot find a dcx alltrax. What Amperage controller would you guys run for a rear seat? 400?

A failed DCS controller is very common. They had no under voltage protection so they went bad if the batteries were weak. A solenoid click from a bad DCS controller is also normal.
