New Alltrax controller installed - cart jolts & throttle response is poor
I ordered an Alltrax XCT400, 200A solenoid, and 2G cables from Scottyb. I took my time and slowly installed everything. Afterwards I retraced all of my wires twice to make sure everything was installed correctly. I have both diodes installed in the right direction on the solenoid.
The cart does run, but it's very "jolty" and throttle response is about 3 seconds too late. Scottyb's instructions say that "the throttle auto calculating feature will take a few cycles to calculate to the cart's signal. The cart may operate unevenly until this function is complete. Simply go to full throttle and back a few times to allow the control to calculate your throttle signal." I did the above dozens of times and the jolting and slow throttle response is still happening. I drove the cart for 3 or 4 miles and the problem is not correcting itself. Any ideas? 2002 Club Car DS Last edited by CobraEatr; 01-19-2019 at 04:21 PM.. Reason: Needed to |

When turn the key on does it flash the correct green lights?
Is the throttle set correctly for your type? |

I don't know if the throttle is set correctly or not. I was under the assumption that it would be programmed specifically for my cart and then sent to me so that I could install it and be done with it. What should I be seeing on the throttle settings? Re: New Alltrax controller installed - cart jolts & throttle response is poor
So You have an IQ cart (Serial number starts with AQ).
You can try a few things. Reset the auto-calibration again, then with the key switch ON and the cart in Neutral, press the pedal slowly from Up to Down a few times. Change the Throttle rate to 40%. Change the Speed curve so you are not varying the speed too much during the time the torque curve is almost vertical, something like this: If the cart is still "jerking" after all those changes you can uncheck the "enable speed limit" to see if the issue is related to the speed sensor. |

It sounds like a MCOR problem, even if you endup replacing the MCOR, make sure there is not excessive "lateral pedal play" or it will eventually damage the new MCOR as well.
You can add a little shim to see if it helps, like in this post: http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...ml#post1443813 |

Never mind about that shim, I forgot you have a DS and it has a entirely different pedal group.

Yeah, sounds like a bad MCOR as long as there is no flags or an issue with the solenoid dropping out.

Can he try the pedal scrub trick to confirm the MCOR is erratic.

Like ScottyB says. Try scrubbing the MCOR wiper. Press the pedal to the floor and release about 30-40 times and see if that improves anything.
Also double check your MCOR wiring at the controller, check the pins in the MCOR connectors for dirt/corrosion. You can also check MCOR output with an ohmmeter. An old style analog meter works well for potentiometer testing. |
