Default Ez-Go Speed Switch Wiper Contacts

A newbie Question:

I have a 1988 Ezgo Marathon and the wiper contacts keep welding themselves together and burning the board up. Can a Potentiometer speed controller for a 1989 - 94 be used to replace the wiper contacts since the same wiper board is used on carts thru 1990
Any input to solve this problem would be appreciated

No the pot box is for controller carts. You would have to convert the cart over to a 36 volt controller are 48 volts.

Are you running larger than stock 18" tires? Are you hauling a lot of passengers or heavy loads? If not there may be an other solution to the problem. Long weekend and I'm not a "resistor" guy, but there are a few around here.

Most times the swipper will burn if the contacts are not even, flat are loose. Cables being loose are if you over loading the cart system by having to much weight on the cart with bigger wheels & tires.

All you need is a controller, pot box and some wire to convert it over. I have all of this in the for sale section.
