Re: PLEASE HELP. All hope lost. Marathon
Good afternoon all,
A couple of things: First I hope you all had a great memorial day weekend!! Second, sorry for not replying to the thread sooner. I got a call Thursday evening and had to pack up and head to Chicago for work. (Yes, no holiday weekend for me) I got back yesterday and got to work on the cart. I will be here working on it tonight then I am off to Chicago again until Sunday. Attached are two pictures one is of the F&R switch. I was going to ask Yurtle about specific details on adjusting the F&R switch. After re-reading his last reply, I believe I know what I did wrong. I will try my hardest to get on this tonight before I fly out again in the morning. The second picture is what the cart looked like during troubleshooting yesterday. |

Re: PLEASE HELP. All hope lost. Marathon
Sorry, I misspoke. My comments were for newer carts, where the FNR is bolted to a bracket that is attached to the frame with slotted holes/nuts/bolts. Yours may have this, but also looks like it's bolted to the body?
Thought I post this now, then read back through your post, since it sounds like you may not be with your cart very long. EDIT: I now see the slots. I'm not sure how they will fix you problem? Sliding makes sense when there's linkage involved, but yours is directly coupled? |

Re: PLEASE HELP. All hope lost. Marathon
Now, Since I thought I was stuck until I received further instruction.....and I had been in Chicago for a few days thinking about the cart.......and I know I am headed back to Chicago.....I decided to start doing the cosmetics.
As of LATE last night the following has been installed. (pics attached) 1. new rims and tires 2. cargo box 3. front bumper and molding 4. LED lights. 5. Roof. All that is left now if the dash console, stereo, and speakers. oh yea, and fixing it so it will go in reverse!!! |

Re: PLEASE HELP. All hope lost. Marathon
Lookin' good. Get some jack stands.
Are there physical stops on the cart/frame anywhere, or just the FNR itself? Maybe something binding? Maybe try FNR disconnected from body, CAREFUL - sparks = not good, to see if the FNR needs "force" or if something's preventing it from going all the way to reverse. |

That cart is going to be nice.
As yurtle has stated, you should not have to force the lever. You should be up and running soon. |
