Factory lifted Onward 4 seater - Rear springs flat?
I'm just curious if the rear springs in other member's Onward carts (mine is a 2018 ) with factory lift are essentially horizontal with no load in the cart? There is no bow in mine.
They are also single leaf - seems like often times 4 passenger carts have multi-leaf springs. Not sure of the terminology, but the rubber frame "snubbers" on top of the axle are only about 1/2" from touching the frame when there is no load in the cart. Cart sits level and all suspension is factory, but just wanted to confirm this is typical Club Car setup for this model. Thanks! |

Re: Factory lifted Onward 4 seater - Rear springs flat?
My neighbor got a newer lifted Precedent last year from a dealer and it’s the exact same way. I was wondering if it was right because I always do HD springs, but that’s how it came. He still uses it.

All Precedents have flat spring design as well.

Club car uses factory single leaf springs on the Villager 4 with rear seat. 103742306 Asm, Rear Leaf Spring, Prec, 4-Passenger. These are a great upgrade for folks that add rear seats. |

Thanks to all for the confirmation - seems a little odd to me but I guess that's why I'm not an engineer.

Re: Factory lifted Onward 4 seater - Rear springs flat?
I thought I had HD springs on my Precedent. We've had 4 adults and 2 kids (ages 8 and 10) on it during the last trip to Ft. Wilderness and never scraped or bottomed out. I just did a lift and it sits right on the factory signal leaf. I have no plans to upgrade at this point. My parents on the other hand, have an '86 DS and it scrapes with just 4 adults. They must have changed the spring thickness I'm guessing?
