California street "Legalized" Bombardier Sport-E!
I bought a Bombardier Sport-e from a Jet Services company auction a while back, it was parked next to a private jet...must be nice huh?
So I took it home and worked my way thru the California DMV and now have lic plates on it...WOO HOO! I can drive it to the beach. Does anyone have any Idea how many kilowatt hours these things hold when fully charged? SDG&E has electric car owners rates that will significantly lower my electric bill. IF it meets their requirements. Or how to calculate it? Now to figure out a surf board rack. |

Hey Master,
How did you register this? My DMV in Santa Ana california is requiring a Manufacturer's Certificate/ Statement of origin. Were you able to acquire one? Also, to answer your question, my capacity is 92AH at 72 volts (6.6 KWh) with 6 AGM deep cycle marine batteries wired in series. All the best, Gordon |

Thanks for the info...DMV only cared that the vehicle has the id tag with the vin and the info passing safety standards for that year. and that the vin matched.
it already has lights, turn signals and a horn and Bombardier had put thre the electric vehicle designation papers so the fed gov looks at it as a regular car except you cant drive on highways or really fast surface streets. breezed right thru DMV. ALSO!!! got the SDG&E .09c discount ev owners rate at night to charge it up. win win. |

Yeah, interesting that we're getting electric discounts for owning a street legal golf carts in California. I get a flat discount of $9 off on my electric bill every month here in Alameda (island). Obviously I have a regular car too, but perhaps this is thinking that running electric carts around will lead to less car use?
