Default 2009 CC Precedent 48V DPI Charger Question

I have removed the OBC from my cart. I have the black wire from the charge receptacle going directly to battery pack (-). My charger will not kick on. Does the sense wire from the receptacle have to be connected to battery pack (-) also? I was thinking that the charger needs to see a positive and a negative and that is it. I have a DPI charger.

First you're correct you only need the two wires. What does the charger do when you plug it in. If it sits there and flashes at you it's not sensing the battery. Probably due to a bad connection. If it doesn't do anything there is an open circuit. Check all the connections on the red and black wires

It ended up being a defective one month old DPI charger. I got a replacement and all is good now. Thanks!
