Re: Brakes/Braking in General
Loosen all the lug nuts a 1/4 turn before jacking the cart up - be safe and have fun

Re: Brakes/Braking in General
X2 for floor jack and jackstands under the axle. No brake cable extension needed on my 6" lifted DS for what it is worth.

Re: Brakes/Braking in General
I know the answer to this!!!!!!
Just had this issue with a lake cart this summer. The axle Ubolts are loose or broken, when you touch the brake pedal the brakes are activating and rotating the axle which in turn yanks the brake cables and jerks the spit out of your mouth!!! Tighten or replace your ubolts........... |

Re: Brakes/Braking in General
Only seen it on electric carts because the axle is only supported by the springs unlike gas carts that have cradles as well.

Re: Brakes/Braking in General
Precedents often has brake issues from 6" lifts, not sure that DS carts have the same issue.
Not that it applies to carts, but when I was young, an old timer warned me to always find the highest part of the undercarriage when working under a car. Saved my bacon once when my '67 Deville came off the ramps and rolled down on top of me. Shock support on the passenger side of the axle hit me, but that's it. Had I been to the left, the pumpkin would have crushed my chest. Quite a few lessons learned that day. |

Re: Brakes/Braking in General
Great question! I could measure the height from the ground to the floorboard if that would help any. Maybe post up a pic of the front of your cart down low so we can see the lift also; might be something somebody can identify.

Re: Brakes/Braking in General
Well, I am tried to take the wheels off today. I ended up breaking the extension to my ratchet. I broke it because I tried to get the nuts off the wheels. I am thinking the nuts were tightened way too much. So I guess I need to buy a breaker bar to get these nuts off. I also took a picture of the ubolts which do not look bad.
