1995 g14e cart problem
I have a g14e yamaha electric cart with curtis controller. I need the proper way to wire up the small wires from original controller to curtis. The cart has a three wire throttle senor also would like to know which wire to check on throttle sensor with meter to see if working properly. The cart has new motor that i have verified that it runs, triple checked wiring from motor to controller and f/r switch all are correct. new batteries, solenoid checks out good. I know I am over looking something involved from original controller to curtis controller change with the small wires. Any help would be appreciated.

So, it would be good to know what the problem is, you said a bunch about the parts, and nothing about the problem.

Re: 1995 g14e cart problem
The cart will not move, the solenoid is engaging. The original controller has been changed to a curtis controller a couple years ago. I want to make check the small wires to controller to make sure they are going to the right places. I have checked all the large wire connections and they are right. this controller only has a few hours on it before the motor failed .,so I feel like I have a connection problem with small wires somewhere.

Re: 1995 g14e cart problem
Motor failures often wipe-out controllers too. Wire 1 (probably yellow) should be energized when the key is on & pedal is pressed (f&r in a gear). Wires 2 & 3 go to throttle sensor (low ohms at rest, near 1k onhs at full throttle)

Re: 1995 g14e cart problem
thanks for the info, I have 36 volt on wire 1 (yellow), I will go back and check wire 2 and wire 3 from the throttle. I checked the wires last week and no reading on low ohm's , but i am going back and check again.

Re: 1995 g14e cart problem
I figured out the main problem with the help from this site.
The throttle sensor rod from the accelerator pedal the pin connecting the rod to sensor had come out therefore I was not getting sensor reading to the controller. I have one other problem, around 3/4 to full throttle I am getting a shutter. I am thinking the the rod from the pedal assembly to speed might be moving the switch past the max ohms level, i am going to adjust rod to the point that is stops at the wide open. level of ohms. This cart was changed from original yamaha controller to curtis controller, does this need a resistor on the large post of the solenoid. Thanks for all the advise. |

Resistor would be good.
