DS Resistor Coil Cart- Solenoid or On off switch?
Hey folks! I have an older DS resistor coil cart that I’m troubleshooting. It worked when I saved it from a construction site last fall, but it torched the ends on 2 ragged battery cables in the first night. I barned it for the winter, and finally tore it apart a few weeks ago. I did a lift and body/paint work. Installed new battery cables, and connected the charger. All was well. The old 36v cart with swollen batteries was holding good voltage!
Key on, F/R switch in either gear, NOTHING. I check the main solenoid and realize it’s not clicking. I jumped the 2 big studs and boom! It runs over my foot!! Yes! Bad solenoid! Easy fix! WRONG! I install a new 4 post solenoid and same exact issue... except now I realize when I turn the on/off switch off... jumpering the 2 big lugs still powers the cart. Is the ON/OFF switch not sending a signal to my small posts on the solenoid to allow it to close? Is there something else I’m missing? Thanks for your help guys! |
