Default troubleshooting solenoid

ezgo txt 36v. I removed the two large cables from the solenoid and tested with ohm meter. You should get zero with key off, and less than one with key on and pedal depressed? I got over 250 with key on and off. So, am I correct to assume it's a bad solenoid. It does click when pedal is pressed. Each battery tested at least 6.3V and entire pack was over 37V.

Solenoid should read infinity on the ohm meter with key off or pedal not depressed. It should read less than 1 ohm with pedal depressed and it should make an audible click as the contacts close.

Coil is god but contacts are not moving because they are probably stuck (fused together) You can whack it with the handle end of a hammer and see if the contacts drop out. What you described sounds like a set of stuck and burned contacts. If this gives you the 0 ohm and then high ohms on other state. If it does or doesn't drop out with the hammer test, they are stuck and replace it.

Just for future reference for someone else, make sure you remove the 250 ohm resistor hanging below the solenoid. That was pretty stupid on my part.
