Default What to use to fill deep gouges in the EZGO plastic body?

Hey all,

I'm about to start a project to refurb some of our campus's carts.

We have a few that have some deep scratches in the front cowl's, I'd like to fill them and then repaint them.

I already have my paint process down, since they are all stock carts:

Red scotchbrite
plastic adhesion promoter
primer
color
2k clear

I did a test on a good panel with that method and the results were great, but I can't seem to find any solid info on what to use to fill deep gouges in the plastic, not just surface scratches. These gouges are probably fingernail deep.

Any advice is appreciated!

Thanks

I've used rtv before on our Yamaha and it wasn't show quality but it looked good enough to make the wife happy. The deep scratches took several applications.

I used regular bonds body filler.
If only finger nail deep use the “light” filler. Little easier to sand and fair out along with less chance of cracking if panel gets flexed.

Use GLAZING PUTTY. It hardens to be sandable, but is a good be softer than the surrounding plastic. Easier to sand it flush without a ton of feathering. I made the mistake of using epoxy gelcoat for similar holes and gouges. I'm still trying to get the surface smooth. The areas that I was able to do with just glazing putty were quick and easy. You can get it online or at the auto shop.
