Default Club Cart Sluggish Like starting in 3rd gear

I have a 95 Club Car DS and when you press the accelerator it slowly starts and if you go downhill will start running but will come to a dead stop at the bottom of the hill. Batteries charge just fine and show 49.8 after charging. If you jack the cart up and press it the tires spin no problem. I've got 40v at the motor. Potentiometer?

49.8 is way low after charging. Measure each battery separately.

That's like 75% charge. What do you mean dead stop? Does it not move after that?

I'll measure each battery individually - how much should each one be?
When I say dead stop, it won't go uphill. If you push it to the top of the hill it will start going again. It's like it doesn't have any torque

That sounds like bad batteries that are dropping voltage under load.

Each battery should be nearly 8.5 volts after charging. You may have one that is low and since they are in series, it will drag the pack voltage down. Pack voltage needs to be about 50.9 volts for a 100% charge.

If you only have 40 volts at the motor, you aren't really going to go anywhere.

What is the age of the batteries? Can you find the date code on them.

Here is another thought. It may be because your solenoid isn't closing and it's running through the precharge resistor. First listen if the solenoid is closing. It should be a fairly loud click, not to be confused with the low click of the MCOR. Next carefully feel the precharge resistor on the solenoid to see if it's warm. Careful it can get extremely hot.

I doubt it the resistor will only allow .1777 amps about 18 hundred's of an amp

The precharge resistor precharges the capacitors in the controller. This charge is enough for the car to move 5 or 10 feet before the charge is gone. Then if you wait a few minutes for the precharge resistor to charge the caps again it will move another 5 to 10 ft.

Solenoid not closing. Changed the Solenoid and the old one was defective. One of the small poles was broken and freespinning. Put the new one on and it ran good for a bit, but the solenoid is not clicking and when I tested it, it's showing 48v on both side on the large poles
