Default 48V to 72V Lithium is... AWESOME!!!

I finally got my '14 Precedent converted over to 72V using an Extreme Team 72V 100ah lithium battery and Navitas AC system. It's amazing!

Yesterday, I got it up to 47 mph but had to slow down to make a turn. I'm pretty sure I'll be able to hit my calculated top speed of 56 mph.

On a long, fairly steep road coming home, I could usually only maintain about 17 mph with my old set-up (48V, XCT500, Executioner motor), so I had to keep pulling over to let cars pass. Yesterday we did the same hill at 38 mph and still had some pedal left - we had to slow down so we didn't pass the cars in front of us.

I wish I would have done this earlier and I can't wait to do the same thing to my Humdinger!

Amazing! I'm not sure I would feel comfortable going that fast. Nice to know you can if you need to. You need to reinforce your roll bar and always wear seat belts! Congrats.

It probably would have scared the @#$% out of me, except that it has been a gradual transition to get up to the current speed. And it feels remarkably stable. Don't think my wife will like it, though.

It truly is incredible, when it works. Hoping you are luckier than I've been with mine. Yesterday the high here was upper 50's and I didn't trust mine to take to the clubhouse and back. But, temps are warning this week and should be back out there more regularly.

Out of curiosity, what are your Max RPM settings on the Navitas app at the moment?

After I replaced the BMS with the new one Extreme Team sent, everything has been working perfectly - even with overnight low temps in the upper 20s to lower 30s.

Navitas said I could set the max RPMs to 9K, which is another reason I switched from the PQ Executioner motor - I think it had a limit of somewhere around 6.5K which topped the speed at about 35 mph.

Well, I have the same set up as you but RPMs much lower than that and it flies. Granted I live in a neighborhood of dense housing and fairly narrow streets and my cart is very recognizable so I keep I try and keep it from being too fast with our speed limit only being 20mph.

Apologies if I asked this already, but was your BMS located near the top of the battery for easy swap? I basically would have to take apart a lot of stuff on mine to make the swap unless my BMS is located on top. I have the 72v 150ah if that helps. Thanks

Do you happen to have a photo of the replacement BMS? Just curious if it's the same one they sent me for my 72v pack.

No, it was located in the front, so I had to remove the lid of the case and the front panel of the case. Although mine is the 100ah version so your's may be different.

I didn't think to take a photo, but it looked just like the original BMS except the top connector had a different pin configuration, which is why the adapter was included.

It looks kind of like this:

EDIT: I see you're running 25" tires, I was thinking you were using 23s - so now I see how your numbers are calculated - my oversight. On 23's with stock gears I think you'd need to turn north of 10K RPM to make ~56 mph.

Anyway, I'll be curious to see if you can hit 9K RPMs - I feel like they have a limit programmed in that is below that, regardless of what you set it to. I have essentially the same power system and drivetrain (though 23" tires) and battery (120ah 72v) and I've found the limit to be ~8600 RPM. Please report back and let us know if it will turn 9K. Thanks!
