Default Curtis 3140 fuel gauge

So this SOC gauge is what Clubcar uses in their Onward lithium carts, it is also the gauge that Relion sells as their fuel gauge it is driven by CAN port data rather than a shunt, I had a faulty CAN port on one of my batteries frying the gauge and now need to buy something new. I always felt this gauge had a poor backlight illumination, seemed I really had to strain to read it so I am on the fence for a new gauge for my cart. Any suggestions?
